Vienna, Austria – November 30, 2015 – The Poly(A) RNA Selection kit was very recently added to Lexogen’s product portfolio as an independent product. It used to be a part of the SENSE mRNA-Seq library prep kit. If you have used the SENSE kit before, you might realize how successfull SENSE is at getting rid of all other unnecessary RNA molecules — leaving higher than 98% of sequences to be from protein-coding genes.
From the development of the SENSE mRNA-Seq library prep kit, Lexogen realized that stringent Poly(A) selection was one of the most important steps in mRNA-Seq, and they conducted a very thorough investigation for finding the best beads, JSR Life Sciences’ Magnosphere™ MS150/Oligo-dT, in combination with the most ideal buffer composition, which they made available exclusively for the SENSE mRNA-Seq Library Prep Kit. However, Lexogen had numerous inquiries from many researchers who wondered if they could purchase this Poly(A) RNA selection module in addition to SENSE, which made them decide to make it available as an independent kit that can be used for other applications as well.
