Recommended practice for grid-connected energy storage systems

Emerging Technologies

The use of energy storage systems in grid applications is expected to increase drastically in the next few years.  To contribute to this introduction, JSR Micro NV took part in the “Gridstor” consortium. Led by DNV GL, this consortium released a recommended practice (RP) which offers guidance on energy storage systems safety, performance and operation in a grid-connected environment.  This RP covers the Lithium-Ion Capacitor (LIC) technology among others, and provides useful insights about the safety, design and use of a LIC based system in a grid-connected application.
