Sunnyvale, Calif., May 13, 2004 -- JSR Micro, Inc., the North America-based operations of Tokyo-based JSR Corporation, announced today that it’s CMP applications lab has been completed and is fully operational. The facility represents an investment of more than $5 million US dollars and will serve as the primary location for support for customers throughout the US and Europe.
“Superior technology and customer collaboration are core to JSR’s business philosophy,” said JSR Micro Chief Operating Officer, Eric Johnson. “The investment and location of this facility demonstrate our commitment to bring that philosophy to the CMP market.”
JSR Micro’s CMP applications lab is a 1224 sq. ft., class 10 facility. The facility’s main functions include development for pads and slurries for use on copper and oxide as well as development of new barrier slurries. The Sunnyvale-based facility is also equipped with defect inspection capabilities.
JSR also has a CMP applications lab in Yokkaichi, Japan, which provides customer support for the majority of JSR’s Asia-based customers. At both the Yokkaichi and Sunnyvale facilities, JSR is focusing on the development of processes to enable implementation at customer sites.
