March 19, 2009 – Tokyo, Japan – JSR Corporation announced today that it has entered into a comprehensive business alliance with Tri Chemical Laboratories Inc. for development, production and sales of raw materials for semiconductors. In April 2008, JSR Corporation acquired 19.2 percent of Tri Chemical Laboratories shares.
The alliance aims to provide high-grade raw materials for cutting-edge semiconductor production processes by combining JSR’s polymer technology and functional materials with Tri Chemical Lab’s ultra high purity chemical products to address the heightened need in the semiconductor market for miniaturization and integration.
Tri Chemical Lab will develop the fine chemical materials while JSR’s global infrastructure will provide support in logistics and market development. JSR and Tri Chemical will also blend the strengths of the two companies to create and expand areas of joint research.
