TOKYO – January 25, 2010 – JSR Corporation has announced plans to establish an overseas subsidiary in Shanghai, China. The Shanghai-based affiliate will focus on enhancing JSR’s sales and marketing function in the rapidly growing Chinese market and establish a more locally based marketing system to support the company’s core businesses of petrochemicals, semiconductor materials and flat panel display materials businesses in China.
JSR’s major customers in the information technology and electronic materials businesses are supportive of the company’s plans to form a manufacturing base in China. JSR also plans to further enhance its client support system by establishing a local corporation in China.
A local presence will allow JSR to quickly respond to clients’ needs and provide high-quality products in the Chinese market.
