Senior Applications Engineer

EDUCATION:

  • B.S. or foreign equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Physics.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Eight (8) years progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or as Applications, Processing, Materials or Development Engineer or in related Researcher/Scientist role in the semiconductor industry. 
  • In lieu of a B.S. and 8 years experience will accept a Masters or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Physics plus five (5) years in job offered or as Applications, Processing, Materials or Development Engineer or in related Researcher/Scientist role in the semiconductor industry. 
  • Will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and execute experiments, projects, and related development activities for creating resist systems to meet customer needs for Integrated Circuit Design. 
  • Apply photoresist chemistry and characteristics of different resist components. 
  • Take the lead in photolithography process analysis, including defectivity, simulations, or troubleshooting products, and provide guidance to both customer and other engineers within the group (on-site expert). 
  • Designing, processing, metrology characterization, and analysis/conclusions and will be utilized for external sales activities. 
  • Work closely with JSR Micro’s partners on joint development activities in areas such as substrate integration, computer simulation parameters, and etch projects. 
  • Operate and support lithography equipment in the lab such as scanners, steppers, lithography tracks, CD SEM metrology, defect tools, and film thickness measurement tools. 
  • Provide on-site technical support and trouble shooting to meet customer needs. 
  • Observe and implement safety rules, policies and procedures. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years photolithography experience in process/development engineering; photoresist chemistry and resist components; application of semiconductor fab equipment including deep UV photolithography equipment; Defect inspection tools; SEM and other metrology tools; proficiency on software used in analysis of experimental data and in the generation of external customer presentations.
