DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

EDUCATION

BS in any technical field recommended, but not required depending on industry experience.  Engineering, chemistry, physics, or physical sciences degree a plus.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years experience in semiconductor industry, lithography, or metrology related fields
  • Experience using most of major Photolithography metrology tools (low/high voltage SEM, Film thickness measurements tools, defect tools), exposure tools, and lithography tracks.
  • Basic understanding of the major components of photoresist.
  • Detailed proficiency on leading photolithography equipment used in the industry including 193- and 248-nm scanners, coater developer, and photoresist technology.
  • Good computer, data analysis, and simulation skills are required; employee should be able to effectively execute experiments and document results.
  • Strong process engineering skills, with core competencies in resist development, optics, and/or advanced metrology solutions.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and process integration required.
  • Good computer and lab equipment skills - including software programs such as excel, word, PowerPoint, and quark express.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate customer needs and feed-back into on-going development activities within R&D.
  • Provide on-site technical support in a fabrication environment including new product evaluations as well as trouble-shooting.  Including the operation of advanced lithography and metrology equipment.
  • Design and execute experiments for developing new products that fit customers’ need, including sample preparation, process optimization, and data analysis.
  • Stay up to date on latest lithography trends by attending conferences, traveling to use advanced lithographic tools, and working with JSR Corporate R&D in Japan from time to time.
  • Work with other strategic suppliers to propagate win/win relationships for JSR that will contribute to future product development as well as customer support.

  • Team player - Must work independently as well as with others to complete project in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to communicate well with team members through written reports and projects, as well as contribute actively during group meetings.
